Visit to the Singpore Art Festivel


A visit to a Singapore Art Festival, Singapore celebrates the arts with a smorgasbord of theater, dancer, and music performances. Organized and managed independently by the Arts House Limited, the Singapore International Festival of Arts (SIFA) brings together the best of local and international artists in the form of quality works in theatre, dance and music, and aims to inspire diverse audiences through great artistic experiences. The atmosphere was fun and exciting to discover a lot stuffs related to our SG50 days.





The overall theme for SG50 is for all Singaporeans to celebrate as one people. For 2014, the focus is to reflect on our journey and to take pride in how far we have come as a country. Hence, the SG50 calendar this year kicked off with a Pioneer Generation tribute at the Istana and there will be more tribute events to honor the special role of our pioneers across different segments of the society for the rest of 2014.  For 2015, the focus will shift towards celebrating our shared values, affirming our aspirations and committing to a brighter Singapore. The calendar will comprise national and community-level programmes organised by the public, people and private sectors.  







Tiger Beer

Launched in Singapore on 1 October 1932, Tiger beer was markets as the flagship brand on Malayan Breweries, now known as Asia Pacific Breweries ( APB). According to APB, the name for Tiger beer was coined by the brewery founders because they were inspired by the vigor and vitality of the tiger, and added a coconut palm tree to the logo to signify its tropical origins. While the brewing of lager beer typically requires cool temperate , Tiger beer was successfully brewed in Singapore by modifying the fermentation process. Known as " tropical laagering " , vertical tanks with conical bottoms were used to create a brew which is rich is flavors. In additional to its signature taste its distinctive packaging also helped Tiger beer set itself apart from its competition. Each  bottle feature electrical blue labels on the front back and neck of the bottle and the word ' Tiger ' is embossed on the neck of the bottle. Currently Tiger beer is brewed in 11 countries and can be enjoyed in over 75, countries across the gable such as Europe, US, Latin Americans as well as the Middle East.



 
 
 
 
 
Bata Shoes
 
Bata was established by Tomas Bata in modern-day Czech Republic and when it opened its first store in Singapore in 1931, it was already Europe's largest shoes manufacture. Ford style mass production method has been introduced in Bata factory since 1904 and new workshops around the globe were growing demand of the Bata shoes. Besides manufacturing footwear for adults. Bata also run a successful campaign promoting their school shoes throughout the 1970s and 1980s with the tagline " First to Bata, then to school'. In particular the bata badminton master shoes were very popular with school going children of the period.
